Sending Birthday Wishes

I've been trying to learn more about using my photo editing software Photoshop Elements to add soft edges to my photographs and create watermarks.  My first attempt, not too bad.  Still need some work.

I recently found the "There She Goes" stamp company.  Love the name of their company.  I find myself singing that song every time I see the name. Anyway they have really cute images.  So I needed a couple of birthday cards and decided to use one of the stamps I purchased.  Isn't she sweet?  She's from the Blossom By Blossom set which has a number of cute images in it. I paper pieced her outfit and actually masked the grass.  Still working on coloring hair, I need to practice more.   And of course used one my favorite color combos, black/red/white.

Dotted Dahlias

Cards don't always have to be complicated or difficult to be beautiful.  This is a really simple but pretty card.  One of my favorite color combinations too, pink, black and white.  The flower is from Layers Of Color Dotted Dahlias stamp set.  I got the inspiration from Jennie at Stamping Away The Day.  She is on the Design Team and has great ideas.  I stamped the flower in two sizes with ColorBox Black ink and embossed it with Ranger's Super Fine Detail Clear powder.  I colored in each flower with Copic's RV25-Dog Rose Flower.
You could color this flower in any color and it would turn out beautiful.  In fact, I think I'm going to do just that!  Make up a few of them and then just add a sentiment when I need a card.  I think it would be good for many occasions.  Until next time!!  I hope you're having the best day!

Happy Birthday Dad!

I don't know anyone who likes to make cards that doesn't find it difficult to make a card for a man.  You don't want it to be boring, but it's so much easier to add a bow or a flower to a card.  So here is my card for my father-in-law.  He is such a special man.  You just can't find a better person than him.

I chose the tree from Gina K Design stamp set called Fanciful Fall.  I thought it was appropriate seeing that his confirmation verse, his father's and my husband's is John 15:5 "You are the vine and I am the branches.  If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."  Inside the card I used a message from Gina K's Masculine Messages stamp set.  It says "Dad, you're such a blessing".  And it's so true.  We love you Dad!!

Felt Flower-Birthday Card

This is just a simple birthday card, but I really love how these felt flowers turn out.  Of course they are pretty simple with the die cut from My Favorite Things.  It's called Die-namics Loopy Bloom.  They are too much fun to make.  Supplies from Papertray Ink were used to make the rest of the card.  I'll try to update this post later with all of the details.  One card down and another two to go.  My new goal for this winter is to make a good supply of birthday, baby and whatever types of cards I can make!!

Here's a close up of the flower.  Aren't they just too cute??

Sisters

I just love Mo's Digital Pencil images.  She is so talented.  I never have a problem finding an image I like.  I thought this one would be perfect for a birthday card for my older sister.  We haven't always seen eye to eye, and I think this saying is so perfect.

"I smile because you are my sister, I laugh because there is nothing you can do about it!"

I had the best time with my niece today. She is such a beautiful young lady, inside and out! I'm so proud of her and love her so much.  I wish she lived closer so we could hang out more often.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Wax Fruit Company

I recently discovered a new digi stamp site while visiting one of my favorite blogs My Stamping Thyme.  The Wax Fruit Company has the cutest images.  She is asking everyone that has purchased her images to submit a project to her gallery for a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree!!  So I decided to enter.  I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!!

I used an image from Gerber Daisy and printed it three times.  I colored all of them with Copics.  One was used for the base and another cut out and popped with pop dots.  A smaller piece was cut from the third and glued to give it some dimension.  The center was filled with Flower Soft.   Thanks for stopping by!

Spring Tulips

Papertrey Ink recently came out with this cute bunch of tulips stamp. It's part of the new Friendship Jar Spring Fillers stamp set. They were really fun to color. I made this card for my mother-in-law's birthday. She likes purple, so I also used PTI's new Royal Velvet card stock. Great color! Hope you like it!! And Happy Birthday Mom and many more!! We love you!!

Another Birthday Card

As part of Gina K Designs release, she offers a free stamp set when you purchase 3 other sets (which is not hard to do, let me tell you).  This was one of the freebies.  It's called Floral Wreath and comes with three different sentiments that fit perfectly in the center.  I finally got around to stamping it and thought I would use the Birthday sentiment. It will be good to have a spare birthday card on hand for a change.  Hope everyone is having a great week!  I am so ready for the weekend, you have no idea!!  More snow coming but I still think it's beautiful!  See you again soon!

Happy Birthday Card

The other day PTI posted a video showing an easy technique and I thought I would give it a try.  First stamp an image on colored paper using white ink (you can emboss it or not).  Then you take a marker (doesn't have to Copic) that is the same color as the paper and outline the stamped image.  It gives the image depth and is super easy.  This was a quick way to make a card.

Winter Birthdays are so Cool!!

If you haven't tried digital stamps, you owe to yourself to give it a try.  They are so fun to use. Not only are there great images to choose from, but there is no storage, prices are affordable and you can make them pretty much any size to you want! How great is that!  One more benefit that I've found is that when you need an image, you just order it and receive within minutes!!  I love that!  This image is from Clear Dollar Stamps. I thought it was prefect for a winter birthday.  I think my husband's cousin will like it.  She loves snowmen.  But then who doesn't!!  The inside sentiment says "Hope yours is the Coolest!!

I made a resolution this year to post more often, so here we go!!  I hope everyone has a great day!  If you have the day off, even better.  Stay in where it's warm and craft!  That's what I'm doing!   Until next time!!

Happy New Year!!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas.  We had a great time!  There are several birthdays in our family right at the beginning of the year.  So I thought I would start on a few birthday cards.  I'm still working on my "copic" coloring skills.  I thought this marigold from Papertrey Ink came out pretty good.  Although I didn't write down the numbers I used because I was just playing around.  And of course it's one I wanted to use.  Oh well, I'm just happy I got one done.

We are looking forward to New Years and a nice long weekend.  If I don't get a chance to post before Friday, I want to wish everyone a happy, blessed and healthy New Year!!

This is a belated birthday card. I should probably make several of them. I seem to have a hard time getting cards in the mail on time. Better late than never??? Well...that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!
