She graduated from college a couple of weeks ago. She actually had a full time job before she graduated!! You don't hear of that happening too often. She is an amazing young lady. She graduated from college and moved into her first apartment all in the same week. We are so proud and excited for her. When I saw this stamp from My Favorite Things, I knew exactly how I was going to use it. It was perfect for her. The key to her first apartment and the key to her success!! We love you Cara!!
Every year they have a fund raiser at one of our local parks. It was such a great day. We walked around the lake and had a great time. I solicited donations and needed some thank you cards for the great people who donated. The money goes to a great organization. The Michigan Animal Rescue League http://www.michigananimalrescueleague.org/ adopts out over 1,000 animals a year. Every cat or dog stays at the rescue until they find their "forever home". If it takes a few days, months or even years, they are well taken care of and loved by a lot of people until they find that special human. The sentiment and die cuts are from My Favorite Things.
I thought it would be so fun to color (and it was) and would make cute note cards. I think it will work great! And you can color them in pretty much any color.
It's so true. No matter how long it's been since you've been in touch with a good friend, you can pick up just where you left off. I was watching the release video for Gina K Designs the other night (great new stuff by the way) and she made a simple card with a flower stamp and sentiment. So I decided to give it a try.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. It's going to 60 degrees here tomorrow! Yeah!!
My first attempt, not too bad. Still need some work.

I recently found the "There She Goes" stamp company. Love the name of their company. I find myself singing that song every time I see the name. Anyway they have really cute images. So I needed a couple of birthday cards and decided to use one of the stamps I purchased. Isn't she sweet? She's from the Blossom By Blossom set which has a number of cute images in it. I paper pieced her outfit and actually masked the grass. Still working on coloring hair, I need to practice more. And of course used one my favorite color combos, black/red/white.
The card never turns out the way I originally anticipate it will. But here are two cards with different shades of purple. One a thank you card and the other for a birthday. They're not my favorite, but thought I would post them anyway. Does anyone have any tips with using purple? I'd love to hear them!! Have a great weekend everyone!!
So I thought this would be good for an anniversary card too. There's just something I love about this color combination. The flower was made from the new die set from My Favorite Things that I just got in the mail and couldn't wait to try. Love it!!
You know...sit down in the evening and watch your favorite show with a dish of ice cream!! And how we know we shouldn't but love it! So I felt the need to confess that on the way home that night I stopped at the store and bought some cookie dough ice cream (my fav)!! I thought this little cutie would be a perfect way to confess!! Yes!!....I'm actually going to make a Christmas card every 25th of the month. It might sound crazy (and I probably am) but they will sure come in handy when Christmas rolls around again. This card is really simple and made with all Papertrey Ink products. Their card stock and printed paper go together so well you can't go wrong! So Merry Christmas in January!! Thanks for stopping by!! Have a great week!!
This is a really simple but pretty card. One of my favorite color combinations too, pink, black and white. The flower is from Layers Of Color Dotted Dahlias stamp set. I got the inspiration from Jennie at <a ?="" href="http://www.blogger.com/" stampawaytheday.blogspot.com?="">Stamping Away The Day. She is on the Design Team and has great ideas. I stamped the flower in two sizes with ColorBox Black ink and embossed it with Ranger's Super Fine Detail Clear powder. I colored in each flower with Copic's RV25-Dog Rose Flower.
You could color this flower in any color and it would turn out beautiful. In fact, I think I'm going to do just that! Make up a few of them and then just add a sentiment when I need a card. I think it would be good for many occasions. Until next time!! I hope you're having the best day!
"A little old place where we can get together!" Since I've been working on this card, I can't get that song out my head. This is such a cute stamp set from Taylored Expressions. And I believe she said the first in a series. How fun! And I'm loving this new flower die too, Rolled Scalloped Flower from My Favorite Things. They are easy and fun to make.
I stamped the main image, the house first. I stamped the house again so I could cut out the shutters, dormers and shrubs so I could pop them up just to give it some dimension. I stamped the trees and fence and cut them out too. I don't usually decorate the inside of the card, but thought I would give it a try. It didn't photograph to well. I outlined the inside with the striped paper, added the sentiment and a few hearts. Everyone have a great week! "Love Shack, baby.....Love Shack! Everybody's groovin' baby (another sentiment in the stamp set), Love Shack!" Now try to get that out of your head!! LOL!!
You don't want it to be boring, but it's so much easier to add a bow or a flower to a card. So here is my card for my father-in-law. He is such a special man. You just can't find a better person than him.

I chose the tree from Gina K Design stamp set called Fanciful Fall. I thought it was appropriate seeing that his confirmation verse, his father's and my husband's is John 15:5 "You are the vine and I am the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." Inside the card I used a message from Gina K's Masculine Messages stamp set. It says "Dad, you're such a blessing". And it's so true. We love you Dad!!
Along with the usual loose weight, exercise resolutions, I made a couple blogger ones too. One....I'm going to post more and two....make a Christmas card every 25th of the month. I did this in 2010 and it was great to have several Christmas cards when the holidays rolled around. Something that I didn't have this year!! Besides that, I have so many stamps that are just waiting to be inked, it will be good to get them out and actually make something with them!! LoL! Here is a thank you card that I made with these great new Loopsy-Daisy Dies from Papertrey Ink. They were so much fun to make and ohhhh the possibilities.

I found this idea for a hot cocoa cone gift from Fun Family Magazine. It was really easy and turned out very cute. Don't you think? The gift will make hot cocoa for four including chocolate chips and marshmallows. And of course a candy gum drop to make it look like a sundae.

The gift tags were made from the snowman set and tag dies from Papertrey Ink. I added a snowflake punch from Marvy with glitter paper and the sentiment "Warm Winter Wishes from Taylored Expressions. Of course they had to have strings coming from their hats with little pom poms at the end. I crocheted and simple chain with various colors of Sugar and Cream cotton yarn to match the color of the tags and used it to tie around the bag to secure the tag. I made them in several different color combinations. Here is the traditional red and green tag and one in red and aqua.

I wanted to keep the invitation simple, for a change :). With Papertrey Ink supplies, they make it easy. I love how their paper and felt match perfectly. And I like how it turned out, if I do say so myself!! LOL! Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back to post a couple Christmas cards later.
Of course they are pretty simple with the die cut from My Favorite Things. It's called Die-namics Loopy Bloom. They are too much fun to make. Supplies from Papertray Ink were used to make the rest of the card. I'll try to update this post later with all of the details. One card down and another two to go. My new goal for this winter is to make a good supply of birthday, baby and whatever types of cards I can make!!
Our hairdresser loves elephants and recently had a bad accident that put out of commission for a while. But we are happy she's back and feeling better. I hope this cheers her up. Have a great weekend!
She is so talented. I never have a problem finding an image I like. I thought this one would be perfect for a birthday card for my older sister. We haven't always seen eye to eye, and I think this saying is so perfect.

"I smile because you are my sister, I laugh because there is nothing you can do about it!"

I had the best time with my niece today. She is such a beautiful young lady, inside and out! I'm so proud of her and love her so much. I wish she lived closer so we could hang out more often.

Have a great weekend everyone!
The Wax Fruit Company has the cutest images. She is asking everyone that has purchased her images to submit a project to her gallery for a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree!! So I decided to enter. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!!

I used an image from Gerber Daisy and printed it three times. I colored all of them with Copics. One was used for the base and another cut out and popped with pop dots. A smaller piece was cut from the third and glued to give it some dimension. The center was filled with Flower Soft. Thanks for stopping by!
I'm taking three Copic classes this week and I'm so excited to learn more about how to shade, feathering, color hair and anything else I can learn. So I'm sure you'll be seeing more copics on my blog after this week! Stay tuned and thanks for stopping by. I hope to be back with another card later in the week. See you soon!
