Love Shack!

Love Shack!  "A little old place where we can get together!"  Since I've been working on this card, I can't get that song out my head.  This is such a cute stamp set from Taylored Expressions.  And I believe she said the first in a series.  How fun!  And I'm loving this new flower die too, Rolled Scalloped Flower from My Favorite Things. They are easy and fun to make.
I stamped the main image, the house first.  I stamped the house again so I could cut out the shutters,  dormers and shrubs so I could pop them up just to give it some dimension.  I stamped the trees and fence and cut them out too.  I don't usually decorate the inside of the card, but thought I would give it a try.  It didn't photograph to well.  I outlined the inside with the striped paper, added the sentiment and a few hearts.  Everyone have a great week!  "Love Shack, baby.....Love Shack!  Everybody's groovin' baby (another sentiment in the stamp set), Love Shack!"  Now try to get that out of your head!! LOL!!

Special Valentine Wishes

This card is for my nephew. He's a young Republican, so I thought this little elephant would be perfect for him for Valentine's Day. It's difficult to make cards for men, isn't it? I just fell in love with this little guy. His name is Lil' Pea-Nut.  He's from Our Craft Lounge and he comes in several varieties. So don't be surprised if you see him again here at Easter!  Too stinking cute!!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Special Delivery

Why is it that when you finish a project, take the picture and THEN realize there is something you would do differently!!  Ugh!!  On this one, the felt flower was the last thing I glued on and I wish I would have moved it up a little. It would have looked better.  But the glue is dried and this is the way it is.  I think the rest of it turned out cute. This little turtle is from Karen's Doodles.  I also saw it in Stamp It! Techniques magazine.  I thought this image would be perfect for our cute little neighbor girls. They have a box turtle name Rex. She's only about 7 years old and will live to be in her 90's! So the girls will have to pass her on to their grandchildren! Isn't that amazing? We watch her when they go on vacation and he's really quite the character believe it or not.

Hope everyone is safe and warm after the winter snowstorm we've had the last couple days.  We've dug ourselves out and had some fun with the dogs out in the snow today. If you have a chance, take a look at my Barb's Beautiful Blooms blog for some pictures of our sweet babies (ok they are 90 lb babies, but still our babies)!!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Fancy Tag Technique

I thought I would try a new technique that Gina K had on StampTV , using tags or punches to create a frame.  For this example, she used the Fancy Tags from Spellbinders to frame an image.  Everything you need to make this easy card is in her new Love StampTV Kit with the exception of the Fancy Tags Die.

Here is the finished project.  I think it only took me about 20 minutes to make.

For this frame, I cut and embossed three of the Fancy Tags. Cut them in half and adhered them around the image.

I think it's a great technique. I can't wait to use it with other tags and punches! Thanks Gina K Designs!!

All of the details can be found on StampTV.
