Congratulations Cara!!

Congratulations to my awesome niece!  She graduated from college a couple of weeks ago.  She actually had a full time job before she graduated!!  You don't hear of that happening too often.  She is an amazing young lady.  She graduated from college and moved into her first apartment all in the same week.  We are so proud and excited for her.  When I saw this stamp from My Favorite Things, I knew exactly how I was going to use it.  It was perfect for her.  The key to her first apartment and the key to her success!!  We love you Cara!!

Thank You Cards

I started volunteering at a local animal rescue recently.  Every year they have a fund raiser at one of our local parks.  It was such a great day. We walked around the lake and had a great time.  I solicited donations and needed some thank you cards for the great people who donated.  The money goes to a great organization.  The Michigan Animal Rescue League http://www.michigananimalrescueleague.org/  adopts out over 1,000 animals a year.  Every cat or dog stays at the rescue until they find their "forever home".  If it takes a few days, months or even years, they are well taken care of and loved by a lot of people until they find that special human.  The sentiment and die cuts are from My Favorite Things.

Zinnias

After seeing this stamp on Flourishes, I just had to have it (happens to me a lot-LOL).  I thought it would be so fun to color (and it was) and would make cute note cards.  I think it will work great!  And you can color them in pretty much any color.

True Friends

I love this sentiment.  It's so true.  No matter how long it's been since you've been in touch with a good friend, you can pick up just where you left off.  I was watching the release video for Gina K Designs the other night (great new stuff by the way) and she made a simple card with a flower stamp and sentiment.  So I decided to give it a try.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.  It's going to 60 degrees here tomorrow!  Yeah!!

Sending Birthday Wishes

I've been trying to learn more about using my photo editing software Photoshop Elements to add soft edges to my photographs and create watermarks.  My first attempt, not too bad.  Still need some work.

I recently found the "There She Goes" stamp company.  Love the name of their company.  I find myself singing that song every time I see the name. Anyway they have really cute images.  So I needed a couple of birthday cards and decided to use one of the stamps I purchased.  Isn't she sweet?  She's from the Blossom By Blossom set which has a number of cute images in it. I paper pieced her outfit and actually masked the grass.  Still working on coloring hair, I need to practice more.   And of course used one my favorite color combos, black/red/white.

A Couple of Cards

I have a hard time using purple for some reason.  The card never turns out the way I originally anticipate it will.  But here are two cards with different shades of purple.  One a thank you card and the other for a birthday.  They're not my favorite, but thought I would post them anyway.  Does anyone have any tips with using purple?  I'd love to hear them!!  Have a great weekend everyone!!

Live Every Moment

I was going to use this Impression Obsession stamp for Valentine's Day and then I ran across this yellow and black plaid ribbon in my stash.  So I thought this would be good for an anniversary card too.  There's just something I love about this color combination.  The flower was made from the new die set from My Favorite Things that I just got in the mail and couldn't wait to try.  Love it!!

Make Mine A Double

I met a great old friend for dinner the other night and we were talking about how much we love ice cream.  You know...sit down in the evening and watch your favorite show with a dish of ice cream!!  And how we know we shouldn't but love it!  So I felt the need to confess that on the way home that night I stopped at the store and bought some cookie dough ice cream (my fav)!!  I thought this little cutie would be a perfect way to confess!!  I love these Pure Innocence images from My Favorite Things!

Congrats!

Debbie Olson from Thinking Inking is one of my favorite card makers.  I love everything she creates.  She is really an inspiration.  This is Papertrey Ink's 5th anniversary and Debbie is on their design team.  They were asked to share there favorite projects.  I got my inspiration for this card from a design that she chose as one of her runner ups.

Merry Christmas in January!

Well....I can't believe tomorrow is the 25th of the month already and of course I hadn't made a Christmas card yet.  Yes!!....I'm actually going to make a Christmas card every 25th of the month.  It might sound crazy (and I probably am) but they will sure come in handy when Christmas rolls around again.  This card is really simple and made with all Papertrey Ink products.  Their card stock and printed paper go together so well you can't go wrong!  So Merry Christmas in January!!  Thanks for stopping by!!  Have a great week!!

Dotted Dahlias

Cards don't always have to be complicated or difficult to be beautiful.  This is a really simple but pretty card.  One of my favorite color combinations too, pink, black and white.  The flower is from Layers Of Color Dotted Dahlias stamp set.  I got the inspiration from Jennie at Stamping Away The Day.  She is on the Design Team and has great ideas.  I stamped the flower in two sizes with ColorBox Black ink and embossed it with Ranger's Super Fine Detail Clear powder.  I colored in each flower with Copic's RV25-Dog Rose Flower.
You could color this flower in any color and it would turn out beautiful.  In fact, I think I'm going to do just that!  Make up a few of them and then just add a sentiment when I need a card.  I think it would be good for many occasions.  Until next time!!  I hope you're having the best day!

Love Shack!

Love Shack!  "A little old place where we can get together!"  Since I've been working on this card, I can't get that song out my head.  This is such a cute stamp set from Taylored Expressions.  And I believe she said the first in a series.  How fun!  And I'm loving this new flower die too, Rolled Scalloped Flower from My Favorite Things. They are easy and fun to make.
I stamped the main image, the house first.  I stamped the house again so I could cut out the shutters,  dormers and shrubs so I could pop them up just to give it some dimension.  I stamped the trees and fence and cut them out too.  I don't usually decorate the inside of the card, but thought I would give it a try.  It didn't photograph to well.  I outlined the inside with the striped paper, added the sentiment and a few hearts.  Everyone have a great week!  "Love Shack, baby.....Love Shack!  Everybody's groovin' baby (another sentiment in the stamp set), Love Shack!"  Now try to get that out of your head!! LOL!!

Happy Birthday Dad!

I don't know anyone who likes to make cards that doesn't find it difficult to make a card for a man.  You don't want it to be boring, but it's so much easier to add a bow or a flower to a card.  So here is my card for my father-in-law.  He is such a special man.  You just can't find a better person than him.

I chose the tree from Gina K Design stamp set called Fanciful Fall.  I thought it was appropriate seeing that his confirmation verse, his father's and my husband's is John 15:5 "You are the vine and I am the branches.  If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."  Inside the card I used a message from Gina K's Masculine Messages stamp set.  It says "Dad, you're such a blessing".  And it's so true.  We love you Dad!!
